*************Earlier in the day*************

“Vaangha Mapillai! Vaangha”

Mu: Ammadi Mulla… Enna silaiyaatam nikirava? Mapillai vandhu irukaaru, nee vaanghanu kooda sollama moorachikitu iruka?

M: Appa… Adhu.. Adhu…

K: Varen… Maama…

(Looks at Mullai and silently, so only she could hear)

Ulla… Pogalama?

M: Pogalam.. Pogalam.. mmmhmmm (Similar silent way)

Mu: Po maa.. Poi maapillaiku kudika thani eduthutu vaa.. Appadiye unga ammava vara sollu!

K: Irukatum..

All three walked into the living area,

Mu: Ukkarungha Maapillai…

Mullai went to the kitchen, informed Parvathi of her husband’s arrival and fetched water for Kathir.

Both Mother and daughter arrived one after the other, Mullai handing the water to Kathir.

P: Vaangha.. Veetla ellarum nalla irukaanghala?

K: mmmm… Nalla irukaangha…

Mu: Paarvathi.. Mapillaiku tea kondu vaa ma.

Madhiyathuku enna samayal? Mapillaiku edhavudhu special sei.. Porul venum na sollu .. Naan poi vaangitu vandhudaren…

K: Ila… Adhulam onnum vendam… Naan kilambanum. Annan veliyur poi irukaru velaiya.. Kadaila aal ila.

P: Idho 10 nimishathula samaichidaren.. Paathi samayal mudinjidhu… Neengha Mullai kooda pesitu irungha..

K: Innoru naal porumaiya vaandhu sapidarom... Inniki neram ila… Jeeva anna na kadaiya paarthuka sollitu vandhu iruken..

Mu: Seri Parvathi… poi tea potu kondu vaa ma.. pesikite nikkama..

M: Amma.. Nee iru.. Naan poi tea potu kondu varen…

Both Murugan and Parvathy acted as if they were unaware of reason for Kathir’s arrival and didn’t show any indication that it’s her birthday. They also didn’t show that they know about his midnight surprise or morning visit.

Kathir was not sure if Mullai had informed her parents of her leave. Neither Murugan nor Parvathi showed any reaction of such knowledge. Even if Mullai has informed, he felt its his duty to inform them of his purpose of visit. So, he decided to inform them.

K: Naan Mullai ya kootitu… Namma veetuku kootitu pogalam nu dhaan vandhen…

Murugan and Parvathi looked at each other and smiled a knowing smile, but still a secret one that Kathir couldn’t decipher.

P: Ivlo seekiram ah va? Vandhu muzhusa rendu naal kooda agalaye?

Mu: Ean ma .. enna pesura nee? Namma pulla nammakooda irukanum nu nee virupa padalam… Aana ava veetla ava poi irukaradhu dhana azhaghu…

P: Irundhaalum…

K: Ila… Innoru naal naan avala kootitu varen… Ilena… Neengha vena angha vandhu ava kooda irungalen.. Amma, anni ellam irupaangha! Ammavum sandhosha paduvaangha.

Murugan was touched by these kind words of Kathir. Even Parvathy was surprised by this calm and confident, yet kind boy… no man. She has never seen Kathir speak/ address them this politely. Even as a boy, due to the difference of opinion between the families, he had been very vocal about his dislike for them.

Parvathy saw a glimpse of what has impacted her husband and daughter. This strengthened her hope for her girl’s happy life.

Mu: Irukatum mapillai.. Varom..

Mullai arrived with tea for all the four and as she handed each a cup, Parvathy informed Mullai of the reason for Kathir’s arrival.

K: Enna phone panni vandhu kootitu poongha nu sollitu, inga onnum sollaliya nee?

M: Adhu.. Neengha ivlo seekiram varuveengha nu naan ethir parkala!

K: Naan dhan sonnen la… 11.30 maniku mela varen nu…

M: mmmm… Sonnengha! Sonnengha!

Tea aaradhukula kudingha..

K: Kudikarom.. Kudikarom…(Softly)

After few minutes of comfortable silence between the four, Murugan alerted Mullai to get ready for her leave.

M: Aan pa.. Bag ready ah than iruku.. Naan perusa onnum kondu varalaye… Idho.. ipo poi edhuthutu vandhudaren…

Once she arrived with her bag, they bid goodbye to the elders and took their leave.

Pandian Stores - New Montage Review

This is my take on the new Promo Montage. A review if you may say so. The seven lead characters, all happy, posing in front of the crux of the story, their home. Though the picture or the final freeze frame shows only that, the few seconds video as well as the frame by itself is the reflection of each character and their whole personality, so different, yet same.
